What Kenadi asked for

Kenadi has run Arch Cosmetics since 2019: permanent makeup in Rochester, London days in King’s Cross, and an academy for other artists. The website, the bookings, the courses and the mailing list each lived on a different platform, and each one was a separate subscription. She told us what she wanted instead.

What she wanted from it

  1. A site that shows the work she actually does: nano brows, powder brows, lips and lashes, and no microblading
  2. To see every enquiry before anyone books, then send the client a private link to choose a time and pay the deposit
  3. Two studios on one diary: Rochester most days, King’s Cross on the days she opens London, at London prices
  4. Her booking policy on a page of its own, not buried in a form
  5. Her courses sold and taught from her own site, with the Business Builder on a page of its own
  6. Nano students’ work reviewed stage by stage, with the option to reply by voice
  7. Separate hours for permanent makeup, general appointments and mentoring
  8. To move appointments in Google Calendar and have the move stick, with the client told only when she says so
  9. The parts of Megan’s admin she had used and liked: the diary list, Availability, Clients and the Academy

And for the artists she teaches

One login for every course they buy, progress that follows them from phone to laptop, and a certificate at the end.

Part II

Four platforms, one site

Each platform did one job and charged for it. This is what replaced each one.

  1. WixThe websiteRebuilt around brows, lips and training, with a short “Where shall we start?” for first-time visitors.
  2. SquareBooking and depositsEnquiry first, then a private link to book and pay. Card or Klarna, and it works the same in Rochester and King’s Cross.
  3. TeachableThe academyThe Business Builder, Mentorship, Nano Brows and Reel Talk, all on one student login.
  4. MailchimpThe mailing listArtists who try the free pricing calculator join her list and get a series of four emails.

Where it is now

Treatments in two studios, an academy and a mailing list, all on one site, and all checked around the clock.

A day at Arch, now. Drag through it.

08:15

Reel Talk students get today’s step

One small thing to film lands in their inbox, with a one-tap “I did it”.

Kenadi: not needed.

10:00

Nano brows in Rochester

The client enquired, was approved, booked through her private link and paid the deposit. The slot was already in Kenadi’s Google Calendar.

Kenadi: at work.

13:10

A nano student sends in her mapping practice

She photographs each part of the brow separately and uploads them from her phone, so Kenadi can see exactly what to correct.

Kenadi: replies between clients, with a voice note.

16:30

She moves Thursday’s client in Google Calendar

The booking moves with it. The admin marks it “client not told” until she taps to email the new time.

Kenadi: one tap.

19:40

An artist tries the pricing calculator

She leaves her email to see her numbers, and the first of four emails goes out straight away.

Kenadi: done for the day.

22:50

A lip blush enquiry arrives

It will be at the top of her “Needs you” list in the morning.

Kenadi: asleep.

“I used to pay for around five separate subscriptions to run the business. Axlo streamlined everything — it saved me money, my clients and students get such a seamless experience, and the website saves me SO much admin time. It’s made running the business 10× easier.”
